Ell’s 2025 NFL Week 1 Losers

Dolphins

The Dolphins didn’t show any life on either side of the ball in a blowout loss to the Colts. The team came in with the coach on the hot seat and questions of whether WR Tyreek Hill wanted to be on the team or not. LT Terron Armstead retired in the offseason and the rebuilt O-line didn’t look good. The defense has a lot of holes especially in the secondary most importantly CB.

Giants

The Giants looked horrible in the redzone and you could see WR Malik Nabers getting frustrated. QB Russell Wlson looked horrible despite some good veteran decisions he held on to the ball too long and couldn’t get the ball out accurately. The O-line issues continue as well on the right side of the line.

Panthers

The Panthers looked horrible offensively and stopping the run continues to be a problem on defense. I didn’t like the move to trade veteran WR Adam Thielen as the group still hasn’t made their mark with struggles by 2nd year WR Xavier Leggette. Despite a strong ending last season, QB Bryce Young still didn’t get anything going offensively.

Bears

Despite all the hype around QB Caleb Williams and the improvements in the offseason, the team looked flat in the 2nd half, the defense doesn’t look good, and the offensive line still needs improvements. The right side of the O-line didn’t look good versus an active Vikings defense. Williams showed good mobility early but was too off script and trying to make magic like he did at USC. New HC Ben Johnson took the blame, but the team has been struggling since the offseason to find chemistry.
