Grade: B+ King is coming off a solid season, maybe even his best season, and had a lot of competition for his services. It was believed he would end up in the AL East, but the Padres pull a good deal for a #2 starter.
P Shane Baz to the Orioles for OF Slater de Brun, C Caden Bodine, P Michael Forret, and OF Austin Overn along with a pick to Rays
Orioles Grade: C+ The Orioles get a #3/4 starter in Baz who does come with injury concerns, but he is coming off a good season where he stayed healthy. He is expected to be the #3 and this could be a good move health pending.
Rays Grade: B+ The Rays get a haul of prospects and save money in this move as another smart cost cutting move. All players are believed to have MLB level talent and should get called up at some point during the season.
SS/2B Ha-Seong Kim re-signs with Braves 1yr/20 mil
Grade: B Kim played well for the Braves after a late start to the season with the Rays. The Braves had a big hole at SS and Kim played very well at the position.
OF Adolis Garcia signs with Phillies 1yr/10mil
Grade: C+ Garcia is coming off a down year but still has power to his bat and decent defense. If he regains his form, this move could be a good one.
P Merrill Kelly signs with Diamondbacks for 2yr/40mil
Grade: B+ The D-Backs traded Kelly during the season and pulled off a nice move getting their #2 starter back on good 2-year deal.
P Kenley Jansen signs 1yr deal with Tigers
Grade: B+ Jansen proved to still have something left in the tank last year with the Angels and should be a solid closer for a contender.
2B/DH Jorge Polanco signs with Mets 2yr/40mil
Grade: C+ Polanco is coming off a solid season and postseason after an injured filled season the year before. This would be a good move, but he is the replacement for Pete Alonso at 1B despite being primarily a 2B.
