Ell’s 2026 NFL Draft Grades: AFC South

Colts – C+ 1 veteran trade, 1 value pick, 1 sleeper

The Colts traded their 1st round pick for CB Sauce Gardner, so starting in the 2nd round they selected LB C.J. Allen (Georgia). Allen is an undersized run stopping MLB with good leadership and sideline to sideline tackling ability, but he needs to add weight and improve in coverage; he was viewed as a late 1st round prospect. 3rd round S A.J. Haulcy (LSU) is a strong, hard-hitting playmaker with good awareness, but he lacks top speed; he is viewed as a sleeper who should start at SS. 4th round G Jalen Farmer (Kentucky) has good strength, footwork, and run blocking, but he needs to improve as a pass blocker. LB Bryce Boettcher (Oregon) is an undersized two-sport athlete playing baseball, who plays with good toughness and run stopping. 5th round Edge/DE George Gumbs Jr. (Florida) is a converted WR/TE with good size, physicality, and speed who is still raw with potential. 6th round Edge Caden Curry (Ohio State) is a strong pass rusher coming off 1 big year as a starter but needs to clean up his technique. 7th round RB Seth McGowan (Kentucky) is a power back with good size, but he has off the field concerns and fumbling issues. WR Deion Burks (Oklahoma)is a productive undersized speed WR and playmaker in space, but his size has limitations.

Texans – C+ 1 questionable trade up, 1 value pick, picks at need positions

The Texans traded up to select G Keylan Rutledge (Georgia Tech) in the 1st round who was viewed as a 2nd round pick, but he is a strong, experienced RG with good run blocking, mobility, and athleticism who needs to improve his pass blocking; it is believed he may be able to play Center. 2nd round DT Kayden McDonald (Ohio State) is a big run stopper with good strength, athleticism, and mobility to give a rush up the middle; he was mocked to them in the 1st round and has three-down potential.  TE Marlin Klein (Michigan) is a big blocking TE with good size and leadership who is still raw with pass catching potential. 4th round G Febechi Nwaiwu (Oklahoma) is a versatile lineman with experience everywhere but LT, he is viewed as a possible long-term Center who can provide depth inside. LB Wade Woodaz (Clemson) is a coverage LB with good size and production, but he needs to add strength and improve against the run. 5th round S Kamari Ramsey (USC) is a coverage Safety and movable piece, who needs to improve against the run and clean up his technique. 6th round WR Lewis Bond (Boston College) is an undersized possession WR good production; he might make the team on Special Teams. 7th round LB Aidan Foster (Indiana) is an undersized MLB with good production and run stopping who struggles in coverage.

Titans – A 1 top level prospect, 1 value pick, 1 or more sleepers, picks at need positions

The Titans shocked everyone not going defense with RB Jeremiyah Love off the board, selecting WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State) a lanky playmaking WR who works best in the slot, but does have #1 WR potential. The Titans traded back into the 1st round selecting Edge/DE Keldric Faulk (Auburn) a big DE with NFL size and good run stopping ability who is coming off a down year as a rusher, but has potential based on his 7-sack season; he was viewed as a mid-late 1st round talent. 2nd round LB Anthony Hill Jr. (Texas) is one of my sleepers as a late 1st round talent do it all LB with good speed, coverage, and improving pass rush, but he needs to improve his tackling and technique. 5th round G Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) is a strong lineman with experience at LT and LG and good pass blocking, but he needs to improve his technique. RB Nicholas Singleton (Penn State) was one of my sleepers as a big back with good speed, strength, and Special Teams experience, but he needs to improve his technique; he has three-down potential. 6th round DT Jackie Marhsall (Baylor) is an athletic pass rushing DT with good quickness and motor, but he needs to improve against the run and add strength. C Pat Coogan (Indiana) is a big, experienced Center with good leadership, technique, and run blocking, but he needs to improve his pass blocking. 7th round TE Jaren Kanak (Oklahoma) is an undersized versatile player who moved from LB to TE, so he is still raw at the position.

Jaguars – F 1 Bad trade, 1 sleeper, depth picks and overdrafts

The Jaguars traded their 1st round pick to trade up for CB/WR Travis Hunter last year to the Browns starting in the 2nd round selecting TE Nate Boerkircher (Texas A&M) an experienced blocking TE who could also fill in at FB. 3rd round DT Albert Regis (Texas A&M) is a strong, high-motor player who needs to add weight to fill his expected role as a run stopper. G Emmanuel Pregnon (Oregon) was viewed as a late 1st round talent as a plug and play run blocker with good size, and strength, but he is an older prospect and needs to clean up his technique. S Jalen Huskey (Maryland) is a lanky coverage Safety, built like a CB, with good playmaking skills, but he lacks top speed and needs to improve against the run. Edge Wesley Williams (Duke) is a high-motor pass rusher with good strength and technique, but he lacks speed and needs to improve versus the run; he has situational rusher potential. 5th round TE Tanner Koziol (Houston) is a big, experienced pass catching TE who needs to improve his route running and blocking. 6th round WR Josh Cameron (Baylor) is a possession WR with good size, hands, and physicality but he needs to prove he can create consistent separation and lacks speed. WR C.J. Williams (Stanford) is a strong WR with good size and hands, but he lacks top speed and needs to prove he can create separation; he might not make the roster. 7th round Edge/OLB Zach Durfee (Washington) is an undersized pass rusher with good quickness, but he is still raw.
