Ell’s 2025 NFL Rookie X-Factors: NFC North

Bears

Offense: TE Colston Loveland, Michigan

Defense: CB Zah Frazier, UTSA

The Bears invested a high draft pick for Loveland to help the passing game. He’s not much of a blocker and built like a big WR so he’s coming in to catch passes and give Caleb Williams an easy target.

With the injury to #1 CB Jaylon Johnson, Frazier has a good chance to step in as a lanky 6’3 CB built best for the outside. As an experienced college player coming out at 25, this might be the chance he needs.

Lions

Offense: G Tate Ratledge, Georgia

Defense: DE/DT Tyliek Williams, Ohio State

The Lions had losses in the interior O-line so Ratledge steps into a starting spot. Ratledge is an old school run blocking lineman with a mullet, so this tough guy fits the system under Dan Campbell.

With DT Alim McNeill starting the year off injured, Williams can step in. Williams has good size to stop the run and could bring a little pass rush or at least making plays behind the line with his mobility.

Packers

Offense: WR Matthew Golden, Texas

Defense: DT Warren Brinson, Georgia

The Packers have a lot of different WR’s but none with speed like Golden. Golden should give Love a solid deep threat and could be moved around with the depth at the position.

It was tough to chose somebody on this side with mostly lower draft picks. Brinson is a player viewed to have the size at 6’5 315 to possibly help stop the run at the NT position and make plays behind the line.

Vikings

Offense: G/T Donovan Jackson, Ohio State

Defense: DT/DE Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, Georgia

The Vikings have totally rebuilt their offensive line and Jackson should fit right in as a starter at Guard. He should be a long-term solution after playing both Guard and LT in college proving his versatility.

The Vikings picked up older players at the DT position coming off injuries. Ingram-Dawkins is an undersized DT who can also play DE, but he should be in the rotation early offering pass rush help.
